The English Racing fan who dreams of meeting Miguel Sancho (English Translation)

This is the story of Callum Moseley, a fan of Racing de Nueva Italia who does not live for Yofre, or Patricios, nor does he walk along the Bulnes cycle path. He lives in England and fell in love with the colors of light blue and white as if he had been born in the surroundings of New Italy.

The clubs in our city are very popular, they play quite often at a full pitch and they radiate all that color and that feeling towards new generations, but we never imagined that this passion would reach so many kilometers away.

Callum is 21 years old and lives in Birmingham, the second largest city in England, and is a volunteer journalist for a website called VAVEL. So how did you come to sympathize with a third-tier club 7,000 miles away?

He tells it himself: “One of my friends on Twitter has a business called Surprise Shirts, which is basically a website where you can buy a mystery box that has a random soccer jersey from anywhere in the world. The shirt they gave me was the rose that Racing de Córdoba wore last year for breast cancer awareness and I loved it”.

As well as being a journalist, Callum created a Racing blog and Twitter account in English, as well as the world's big clubs, who have their social media accounts in different languages for their fans around the world.

He also told us what attracted him to the Cordoba Academy and why he became a fan: “I chose to follow the team because I wanted to find a non-UK football club that I could follow and find an attraction too, and that club turned out to be Racing for the jersey I received and I've been happy ever since."

How do you see the team's campaign and who is your favorite player?

I always keep an eye on the results, it's hard to find a way to watch them as matches are usually played at 1.00am UK time. However, I think we have more than enough quality to win the division, like we did last season. Hopefully we can get promotion this time, after a heartbreaking loss on penalties last year. I'm new to supporting the team, but I really like Facundo Rivero and Marcos Figueroa.

Which England team would you compare Racing to?

It is difficult to compare Racing with the English teams because the way of playing is different in each country. It has similar colors to Coventry City, which is the team I'm a fan of here in England, so that would probably be the team I would compare it to.

Would you like to see a match at the Miguel Sancho?

It's on my wish list, that's for sure. One day in the future I would love to go and take my partner to Argentina to see the club and experience the atmosphere. Also, I have spoken to a lot of Racing fans and they are amazing, I can't thank them enough for how nice they have been to me.

Shout a goal at Sancho In the last match of the Academy, Callum stayed up late into the English night covering the draw against Atlético Paraná for his Racing account in English. That night, how could it be otherwise, he celebrated both the agonizing goal and the fact that the team continues to be the undefeated Federal A. Finally, this particular fan took advantage of his contact with 351Deportes to greet the academic community: “I would like to thank all the Racing fans for their support in my Racing de Córdoba fan account in English. They are amazing and have made me feel welcome, like I am at home, even though my beloved team plays on the other side of the world to me. Hopefully we stay united and achieve promotion this year.” Will we have Callum in the academic stadium shouting a goal from "Tucu" Rivero or "Rabbit" Figueroa? For now, he only follows the team from Birmingham, but let's hope he can fulfill his wishes: experience a Racing match at the Miguel Sancho and that Racing gives him a promotion to the First National.
