Who Are Racing De Cordoba?

Racing De Cordoba currently play their matches at the Estadio Miguel Sancho. They have spent their entire professional existence at the same stadium, but it has overseen major developments since. 

The stadium holds roughly 15,000 spectators which in equivalent to English stadiums, is roughly a League One (English Third Division) stadium, which is extremely impressive. The sky blue and white seats, definitely add character to the stadium, something that certainly lacks in the majority of stadiums in the United Kingdom. 

Last season, Racing De Cordoba won the third division title, with quite a considerable points total. However, promotion doesn't quite work like that in Argentina. 

By winning their regionalised league, Cordoba would automatically quality for the semi-finals of the third division play-offs, where they would compete against other third division winners. The winner of that four team semi-final knockout stage would face the side who finished in the relegation play-off place in the second tier. The winner of that game would go/remain in division two whilst the loser would remain or drop to the third tier.\

Cordoba got all the way to the very last game, before they were beaten on penalties and had to remain in the third tier this season.

Personally, as a football fan, I think there're many reasons why more supporters from the United Kingdom should take an interest. 

Firstly, if your like me, and your clubs season finishes in May, you'd have been looking for football to watch throughout that time. The Argentinian leagues are very similar to the MLS in America, where the season occurs from March to November each year.

The club is also flying high this season, sitting top of the league, with a significantly higher goal difference and as of the time of publishing, they are unbeaten in the league. 

From what I've been able to find, the club love to play attractive, attacking football and they score a lot of goals, some of which are absolute screamers.
